Jewelry Care

Your pieces are made to last. Here’s how to keep them that way.

Fine jewelry is an investment in beauty and craft. With a little care, your Célia pieces will retain their lustre and integrity for years to come. Célia pieces are made to last but the following guide covers everything you need to know about wearing, cleaning, and storing your jewelry.

Daily Wear

  • Put your jewelry on last — after applying perfume, moisturiser, hairspray, and makeup🧴
  • Remove pieces before swimming, bathing, or any water activity. Chlorine and saltwater accelerate wear. (This only applies to certain pieces, Kyza was made for the beach🏖️)
  • Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, cleaning products, and hand sanitisers🧼
  • Be careful with your pieces when working out (Célia always matches gym sets😉)
  • Take pieces off before sleeping to prevent snagging and unnecessary stress on delicate settings💚

Cleaning Your Jewelry

Regular, gentle cleaning keeps your pieces looking their best.

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently buff pieces after each wear.
  • Never use abrasive cloths, toothpaste, or ultrasonic cleaners on plated jewelry.
  • Dry thoroughly before storing — moisture is one of the main causes of tarnishing.

Note: Gold-plated pieces require more delicate handling than solid gold. Avoid submerging them in water for extended periods.

Storing Your Pieces

  • Keep jewelry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
  • Store necklaces and chains hanging or laid flat to prevent tangling.
  • Keep pieces away from other metals that may cause friction or oxidation.

Care by Piece Type

Rings

Remove before washing hands frequently or using hand creams. Residue builds up beneath the setting and can dull stones over time.

Necklaces & Chokers

Fasten the clasp before storing to prevent chains from tangling. Lay flat in a soft pouch or hang on a jewellery stand.

Earrings

Clean posts regularly with a cotton pad lightly dampened with alcohol. Store pairs together in a small pouch or earring organiser.

When to Seek Repair
